The Higher Level Stewardship Agreement

In March 2011 a Higher Level Stewardship Agreement was signed between South Gloucestershire Council and Natural England This agreement is set over a ten year period. A copy of the HLS Agreement can be seen below.
The stewardship aims to manage the common to ensure the restoration of species-rich grassland. The whole common has been split into parcels of land and these parcels can be seen by refering to the Rural Payments Agency  RPA Maps ( awaiting amendments).

In addition we shall be carrying out some scrub management to allow for the movement of cattle accross the site and to re-establish vegetation borders where the scrub has been left to take over grassland areas. The scrub management plan is currently being created and will be open for comment in late September.
